WORLD WOMEN TOURISM

Supporting women tourism professionals with harnessing their growth potential and empowering each other.

At present…

Research in the tourism and hospitality sector shows that women face considerable challenges in the sector which includes unequal pay and hostile work environment. Women are also highly underrepresented at leadership and decision-making positions.

Additional barriers in terms of accessing business procurement opportunities, and inadequate professional development opportunities exist for women professionals in the tourism industry.

The changing tourism landscape has an imminent need for women entrepreneurs and professionals with competencies to both lead and be the face of the industry.

We are taking conscious steps to enable the industry to procure more from women-owned businesses, and employ more women in leadership positions. We are doing this through showcasing their ability to create, lead, and grow as the backbone of the tourism and hospitality industries.
